If what you want to know isn't posted here, feel free to contact me or one of the other administrators and ask us. You can also post your question in this forum and it will be answered.

How Do I Post a Picture?

There are basically two ways to post images. You can click on the image icon ( [image]

), which is located in the second row of the "Add Tags" icons above. It is the fourth image in. The second way is by typing in [*img][/img*] and placing the URL of the image inbetween the [img*][/img*], and removing the *'s.

If you would like somewhere to host your images for free, you can try imagebucket.com or doing a search on google. I am also very open to hoasting images for people. Just PM or E-mail me the image and I will upload it to my website and then send you the link.

Posting a link is very similar to posting an image. You can click the [image]

icon or typing in [url]*[/url*] without the *'s.

Not at all! Anyone is welcome to post, if you want to become a member or not. Creating an account simply gives you the option of having a little picture under your name and custom title, along with the ability to be able to tell what messages you have and haven't read on any computer.

How do I register?
As long as the admins of the forum in question have the signups enabled, simply press the [image]

button on the forums toolbar.
Once there enter the information which you would like your account to contain, and then press register.
Once this has happened, you will be emailed an activation code to vailidate your email adress.
You can either click the link given in your email, or manually type the code in the box provided on the forum.
Once you have done this you will be registered for posting!

Why Register?
By registering, all posts you make will automatically have your account information filled in.
You will be able to see which posts are new (there will be a marker next to posts that says "NEW").
You can get email notification of replies to your posts.
You can send private messages to other members.
Also, no one will be able to post using your name (you can "secure" it so that no one else has it!).

I'm not getting my activation code!
If you use AOL, they tend to block lots of mail that should be allowed through. If you can not get your key with AOL, we suggest you use an alternate email account with a different provider (such as hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc).

My activation code doesn't work!
If you submitted a request for an activation key more than once, then a new key was generated which voided your old one. You will have to wait for your new key to arrive. Submitting extra requests for keys only slows down the process.

What is PMing and how do I do it?

There are three ways to send a Personal Message to another member.

1. Using the "send this member a PM" link from their profile.
2. Pressing the PM icon in their "mini profile" next to a post of theirs.
3. Going to the PM area, selecting "new message" and typing their user name in the username box.

Once here you can enter a subject and message just like any other post.

What is an Avatar?

Avatars are the image under your name in your profile and typically represent something about your character/personality.

Avatars must be 100x100 pixels or smaller. You can use an avatar linked from your own site or one of the standard avatars availabale to use.

How do I get my own Avatar?

1) Click on Profile
2) Click on Modify Profile
3) Scroll down to "Avatar"
4) Either choose an avatar you like, or select none. "None" must be selected if you want your own avatar to show up.
5) If you want your own Avatar that is loaded somewhere else on the internet, type in the URL, Width, and Height.
6) Click the Modify Profile button at the bottom.

Very easy, no?

What is the Quote button?

If you would like to quote a person's previous message when replying to them, click the "quote" button. This will bring up the screen to post a reply, and it will automatically include a copy of the message you are replying to.

This is helpful if there is a busy topic and you wish to reply to one specific users message.

Quote:

A quoted paragraph will look like this. The text inside quotes can be edited to just highlight the one line or part of a post you would like to address instead of displaying the entire post again.

What are those footprints under my name?

The number of footprints and their color vary with the postcount. Currently, the Member rankings are as follows:

0 posts- 1 gray footprint - Dolphinback
50 posts- 2 gray footprints - Explorer
100 posts- 3 gray footprints - Apprentice
200 posts- 3 gray footprints - Junior Scholar
500 posts- 3 blue footprints - Scholar
1000 posts- 4 blue footprints - Villiage Elder
2000 posts- 4 green footprints - Guardian
3000 posts- 5 green footprints - Demi-Saurian

More rankings and titles are welcome if you want to come up with them. Suggestions for changes are also welcome. I only have four colors avaliable for the footprints and the magenta color is reserved for the admins.

Why isn't my name capatilized?

When you create an account, your name is automatically all lower case. To get it to show up capatilized, or to change your name to something else,

1) Click on Profile
2) Click Modify Profile
3) Scroll down to Display name. This is located in the Account Information section
4) Change the display name to what you want.
5) Save the changes by clicking Modify Profile at the bottom of the page.

There are certain names that your name can not be displayed as. If this happens, you will receive an error message and be told to change it to something else.

What happened to my account?

In order to keep the number of unused accounts down, I occasionally go through and delete some. Accounts that have not been activated for three months get deleted, as do ones with 0 posts and have not been logged into for one year.
